The automatic palletizing of display cartons with lips at the top and openings at the bottom requires high accuracy during automatic palletizing. The lips must fit in the openings of underlaying display carton.

By using a clamping gripper, the cartons are perfectly aligned in the gripper and due to the great accuracy of the Spider, the cartons are stacked with great precision.

The gripper is designed to pick up two cartons at the same time so that high production speeds are achieved. The Spider can palletize very high pallets. In order to do this, the Spider frame and Z-axis were extended. Due to the limited free height, a telescopic Z-axis was used.
