When ventilation ducts need to be palletized on a pallet, a full layer of ducts is first collected. The Spider picks up the layer and introduces it twice into an automatic strapping machine so that the layer is held together on the two sides. After that, the layers are palletized. A very specific vacuum gripper was used in order to pick up the different types of tubes. An additional difficulty was that a burr had to be cut off along the two sides of the tube before they could be palletized. Each tube is rotated on the infeed conveyor until a camera sees the burr, after which it is automatically cut off.

The ducts must also be stacked in a pallet rack. Since the Spider is a portal robot, it is easy to descend from the top into the pallet rack with a layer of ducts.
