At low production speeds, the investment in an automatic packer and palletizer is often too high. As a result, you continue to pack manually and manually stack the full boxes or crates on pallets. But there is an opportunity here. With our Belgian-built Spider portal robot, we combine both tasks with one robot, making the investment feasible.
Empty preformed carton boxes are fed within the working area of the Spider. Preformed layers of products are picked and packed in the carton. Once the carton is full, it is automatically closed and fed back within the working area of the robot, after which it is palletized on the pallet by the same Spider.
When packing in crates or pliable crates, the Spider takes an empty crate from the pallet, fills it and stacks the full crate on pallets.
